Dual Degrees with Course 2-A
The general requirement to obtain a second S.B. degree is to complete the requirements of the second major and 90 units in addition to those of the first degree. Students applying for dual degrees must have a grade-point average of at least 4.0. To apply for a dual degree program, students submit a petition to the Committee on Curricula after completing their sophomore year.
In the case of Course 2-A, no subject counted in fulfillment of departmental requirements for another degree may be used to fulfill the 60 unit concentration requirement of Course 2-A. Other subjects may overlap (for example, 2.005 and 18.03 are required for both the Course 2-A and Course 22 SB degrees, and each would count toward both degrees). If the combined program exceeds 270 units beyond GIRs, a maximum of twenty-four units of concentration subjects may overlap the requirements for the second degree.
