The Department of Mechanical Engineering seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of energy science and engineering.

The appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level; in an exceptional case, a senior faculty appointment may be possible. Faculty duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, development of an independent, internationally recognized research program, and supervision of student research.

Candidates must hold an earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field by the beginning of the appointment.  Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in areas of thermodynamics and transport phenomena in a range of energy conversion processes; solar energy conversion; combustion and catalysis; CO2 capture; alternative fuels; hybrid systems and integration; small and large-scale energy storage; or energy efficiency and waste heat recovery. Candidates are expected to be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level subjects in thermofluid sciences and in energy conversion, and they will be expected to establish an independent research program as well as to interact with research groups across the Institute.
