MIT engineers, including Professor John Hart have designed a food sensor from an array of silk microneedles that pierces through plastic packaging to sample food for signs of spoilage and bacterial contamination.
Professor John Hart has developed a miniature “electroadhesive” stamp that can pick up and place down microscopic objects. The new technique could enable assembly of circuit boards with minute components.
MIT engineers including Professor John Hart and Professor Neville Hogan have designed 3-D-printed mesh materials whose flexibility and toughness emulates and supports softer tissues such as muscles and tendons.
